Isabell Marr is a PhD-student of Prof. Dr. Konstanze Krüger at Nürtingen-Geislingen University since May 2015. After her vocational training as professional horsewoman/equestrian (breeding and eq-uine management) she studied B.Sc. Biology at the Leibniz University Hannover. Afterwards she studied “Animal Biology and Biomedical Sciences” at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover.
For her PhD project “Sensory laterality, Stress Hormons and Immunoglobuline A in horses (Equus caballus): Impact of transportation, social disruption, changes in housing conditions and training” she collaborates with Prof. Dr. Volker Stefanski from the University of Hohenheim and with the State Stud Farm Marbach. To evaluate the individual stress level, glucocorticoids will be measured from fecal and salivary samples as well as immunoglobulin from fecal samples. The physiological measurements will be compared to behavioural parameters and the sensory laterality of the horses.
